Up in Smoke
Raheny & Killester -3 July 2010

Two buildings, within a mile of each other, went up in smoke on the night of Saturday 3rd July 2010. Both were, at least partially, building sites.


The Killester fire (above) was the new apartment block under construction on the site of the old gym in the Venetian Hall apartment complex.


The Raheny fire (above) was the local HSE clinic. As a result, many services vital to the community have had to be suspended or transferred to less convenient locations (below).



I wouldn't like to speculate on the cause(s) of these fires. No doubt a Garda investigation will throw some light on the matter in due course.
